fulltilt.jpgAt 9:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, February 6, the first event of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series VII took place. The event was a $750,000 Guaranteed No Limit Holdem and was the first of twenty tournaments in the series that will culminate in the $2 million guaranteed No Limit Holdem Main Event, which will start at 6:00 p.m on February 17.

Every event in the FTOPS will be hosted by a Full Tilt Poker pro and will include a pro chat session that takes place immediately before the event. Full Tilt has scheduled the tournaments so that some will take place at times convenient to American players, and some will be convenient for European players, with American Full Tilt Poker pros hosting the events convenient for Americans and European Full Tilt Poker pros hosting the events convenient for Europeans.

Full Tilt Poker is encouraging all of their players to compete in the events, running numerous satellites and even making an official FTOPS Satellite Challenge. Players who win more than one seat to an event will receive the value of the extra seat as a cash prize awarded to their account. That is not all, as the player who wins the most extra seats to an event will be awarded a prize equal to the value of two additional seats in the event, while the player who took the second-most amount of extra seats will win a cash prize equal to the value of one additional seat.

The players who reach the final table will be the most rewarded of all, for in addition to the money they will win, they will also be awarded a FTOPS jacket. In addition, the winner of each tournament will win an exclusive avatar that is wearing a FTOPS jacket to show the players they face off against that they are playing against a champion. Full Tilt Poker will also compensate the bubble boys for their close but not quite finishes. The players who are eliminated on the bubble will be given an entry into the Bouncebackability freeroll where the winner will earn a seat in the main event.

This reward does not apply to the main event, of course.

Full Tilt Poker pros will be featured prominently throughout the events, with each tournament being hosted by a Full Tilt Poker pro. There will also be a pro chat session before each event. Some events in the FTOPS will be scheduled for times that accommodate European poker players, and European Full Tilt Poker pros will be hosting these events.

Full Tilt is making it easy to enter the events, with satellites constantly running. Full Tilt is also awarding cash prizes equal to the cost of playing in the event to players who win more than one seat into an event. The player who wins the most extra seats to an event will win an additional two seats worth of cash, while the player with the second-most extra seats will win one additional seat worth of cash, deposited into their account.
