25% up to $100 bonus at Pacific Poker

townsend.jpgBrian “sbrugby” Townsend, admitted in his blog last week that he has held two accounts with the online poker rooms Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars, which is a violation of the Terms of Service of both sites which ban multi-accounting. Full Tilt Poker was swift to respond to Townsend’s admission, suspending him from “red pro” status with the site for six months. Poker Stars has yet to make an official statement regarding Townsend.

Everyone knew Brian Townsend played at Poker Stars as “aba20” but Townsend would also play at lower stakes as “Makersmark66.” On Full Tilt Poker Townsend was a red pro with his name, “Brian Townsend,” as his screenname but would also play anonymously as “stellarnebula.”

Townsend is a pro instructor at Cardrunners.com, a poker education website which specializes in video instruction of the pro’s play which includes explanations of their actions from the pros. Townsend made his apology after discussing the matter with Lee Jones, who is the COO of Cardrunners and who was once the CEO of Poker Stars.

Townsend pledged to donate $25,000 to charity and said in his apology “I hope that people can not only look to me for poker education but also for the way to live their lives. I made a mistake and am willing to take responsibility for it. I am willing to stand up and face the music. I apologize to the entire online community. I will never participate in this type of activity in the future. This post should act as a full admission of my guilt, and I sincerely apologize to anyone that I’ve wronged.”
