wsop.jpgHarrah’s Entertainment has announced that two events at the 2008 World Series Of Poker, Event #40, $50,000 HORSE and Event #45, $2,500 Deuce-to-Seven Triple Draw Lowball are switching places on the schedule. The $2,500 Deuce-to-Seven Triple Draw Lowball event is now Event #40 and will run from 12:00 p.m on June 22nd through the conclusion of the final table on June 24th. The $50,000 HORSE event will now be Event #45 and will start at 5:00 p.m. on June 25th and will run until the final table concludes on June 29th.

Harrah’s Entertainment announced that they are making the switch to help ESPN provide more extensive in-depth coverage of the $50,000 HORSE event, which is a favorite among both poker players and the poker fans.

The $50,000 HORSE event is the most difficult to win, as players need to be highly skilled in the five different games that make up HORSE: Holdem, Omaha, Razz, seven-card Stud, and seven-card stud Eights or better. With the difficulty of the game and the large buy-in prohibiting most amateurs from competing, the $50,000 HORSE event is widely considered to be the professionals’ event, much more so than the $10,000 Main Event, which is easy to win your way into and boasts thousands of amateur poker players every year.

The switch of the $50,000 HORSE event and the $2,500 Deuce-to-Seven Triple Draw Lowball event is the only change to the schedule.
